TikTok doesn’t allow users to directly change their age in the app settings, but there’s a way to request help from the support team. Follow this simple guide to update your age on TikTok if it’s incorrect.
Step 1: Open TikTok
First, open the TikTok app on your phone.
Step 2: Go to Your Profile
Once TikTok is open, tap on the profile icon located at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Step 3: Open Profile Settings
In your profile, tap the three horizontal lines at the top right corner. A menu will pop up. From the options, select Settings and Privacy.
Step 4: Find “Report a Problem”
Scroll down through the settings until you find Report a Problem under the Support and About section. Tap to open it.
Step 5: Go to “Account and Profile”
In the Topic section, tap on Account and Profile, and then choose Editing Profile.
Step 6: No Age Change Option? Here’s What to Do
You will notice that there isn’t a direct option to change your age. No worries! Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Need More Help.
Step 7: Submit a Request to Support
Now you can write a message to TikTok support. Explain that the birthday on your profile is wrong and that you need help to change it. For more clarity, you can also attach a screenshot or video.
Step 8: Wait for TikTok to Respond
Submit your request, and TikTok’s support team will contact you within one or two business days to help you update your age.
