If you’re looking to step away from LinkedIn, knowing how to permanently delete your account is essential. In this step-by-step guide, we’ll show you the simple process of closing your LinkedIn account. Whether you’re no longer using the platform or just need a break, following these steps will ensure your account is deleted for good.
Step 1: Open the LinkedIn Mobile App
First, open the LinkedIn app on your mobile device. Make sure you’re already logged in to your account.
Step 2: Access Profile Settings
Once you’re in, tap on the profile icon at the top right corner of the screen. A sidebar will appear. Scroll to the bottom and find the Settings option, then tap on it.
Step 3: Navigate to Account Preferences
Inside the settings menu, you’ll see an option labeled Account Preferences at the top. Tap on that. Scroll down until you find the Account Management section.
Step 4: Start the Account Closure Process
In Account Management, there’s an option to Close the Account. When you tap this, LinkedIn will notify you that closing your account will result in the loss of all your connections, messages, endorsements, and recommendations.
Step 5: Confirm Closure and Choose a Reason
If you’re certain about deleting your account, tap Continue. Next, LinkedIn will ask you to select a reason for closing the account. Choose one of the options provided or, if none fit, select Other and explain your reason.
Step 6: Finalize by Entering Your Password
To complete the process, LinkedIn will require you to enter your account password. After entering your password, tap Done. Your LinkedIn account will then be permanently deleted.
Now that you’ve followed these steps, your LinkedIn account is gone. If you ever change your mind, remember that this action is permanent and cannot be undone.
